By searching dozens of travel sites, we discover charming alternative lodging selections and fabulous new places off the beaten path. Our travelers look far beyond your cookie-cutter hotels, and strive for a place that immerses them in the local lifestyle.

The Team

Joe Wong, Co-Founder & CEO

Joe Wong

Joe came up with the idea for Enrout while traveling with his wife and baby son. Besides being a proud dad, Joe loves all things manly – sports, deep-dish pizza, and playing basketball with his son. Joe handles the technical and business side of Enrout... from ensuring that Enrout stays innovative to making the user experience better than any other travel site out there.

Joe previously cofounded Project Wedding, a wedding planning website that reaches over 1.5 million visitors every month. Project Wedding was acquired by eHarmony. Joe was also a cofounder of YouOS, a Y Combinator backed site that was named one of PC World's 20 Most Innovative Products. He received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from MIT.

Margaret Wong, Co-Founder & President

Margaret Wong

Margaret’s passion is to help people no matter which way, shape, or form. On a random Tuesday afternoon you can find her floating over her laptop with a latte from the corner café, or wandering Golden Gate Park while fantasizing about summer getaways where the rooms are delightful and homey. Margaret leads the product and marketing vision for Enrout.

Margaret previously cofounded Project Wedding, a style-savvy wedding resource that reaches over 1.5 million people every month. She sold Project Wedding to eHarmony, who could take the site to new heights. Margaret received Bachelors and Masters engineering degrees from MIT, and is currently a student at UCSF where she studies medicine. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and son.
